Yes. Your privacy is important to me, and I treat what you share with care and respect. Information you share during therapy sessions or an introductory consultation is confidential and will not be shared with others without your knowledge and consent, except in certain circumstances where disclosure is required or permitted by law or professional obligations.
These circumstances may include:
Serious risk of harm: If I have reasonable grounds to believe there is a risk of serious harm to you or someone else, I may need to share relevant information with emergency services or others who can help protect someone's safety.
Child protection concerns: If I have reason to suspect that a child may be in need of protection, I am legally required to report this to the appropriate child protection authority.
Concerns involving vulnerable adults: In certain circumstances, I may be legally required or permitted to disclose information to help protect an older adult or a person with a disability from harm, abuse, or neglect.
Professional obligations: I may have a duty to report certain forms of serious professional misconduct, including sexual abuse by another regulated professional, in accordance with applicable legislation and professional requirements.
Legal requirements: If disclosure is required by a valid court order, warrant, or other legal process, I may be required to provide relevant information. Where legally permitted, I will take steps to limit disclosure to what is necessary.
Incapacity or emergencies: If you are unable to provide consent, I may be permitted to share relevant information with an appropriate substitute decision-maker or another person who can assist, where necessary and legally permitted.
Whenever information must or may be disclosed, I will limit it to what is reasonably necessary for the circumstances. Outside of these exceptions, I will only share your personal information with your express consent.
If you have questions or concerns about confidentiality, you're welcome to bring them up during your introductory consultation.

At this time, I am only able to provide counselling and psychotherapy to clients who are physically located in Ontario at the time of their appointment.
If you are travelling outside Ontario, we will need to temporarily pause our sessions until you return. You're welcome to resume sessions once you are back in the province.

I provide ongoing psychotherapy, but I am not an emergency or crisis service and am not able to provide immediate support.
If you are experiencing a crisis or need immediate support, please contact a local crisis service, call 911, or go to your nearest hospital emergency department.
Because I provide therapy virtually, it is important that you know the location of your nearest emergency department and have access to local emergency resources.
If an emergency occurs during a virtual session and our connection is interrupted, please do not wait for me to reconnect. Contact 911 or go to your nearest emergency department first. Once you have contacted emergency services and are safe, you can contact me if needed.
